Welcome to the first DES Campaign newsletter. Thank you so much to each and every one of you for coming forward, sharing your details, and joining the campaign. We appreciate this can be very difficult.

We have been inundated with people coming forward from all walks of life to voice their experience with Diethylstilbestrol – whether they received the drug itself, have been affected by their mothers taking it, or know someone personally whose life has been affected by DES.

We are so pleased that you have felt empowered enough to join us in the fight for justice and we promise to use our collective voices to seek answers and help push for the truth regarding this silent scandal.

Our first newsletter provides you with an update on the campaign, outlines our next steps for gaining support, and announces that the DES Daughters and Sons Support Group UK, ran by DES Daughter Suzanne, is now live and ready for you to join here.

Progress Update

We are pleased to see that Layla Moran MP, Chair of the Health & Social Care Select Committee, has voiced her support for the search for justice. We are also pleased to hear that the government have indicated that they will look into the issues that have been raised.

Newsletters Explained

We hope to send these newsletters out to provide updates on a monthly basis. They will contain any new information we receive or come across to ensure that you stay in the loop about everything concerning this issue.

If there are pressing updates on the scandal or our campaign itself that we think you should be aware of sooner, we will send out more emails as and when they arise.

The pursuit of accountability can be long and arduous. If at any point you feel that the newsletters are too much or you would like to take a break from hearing about the campaign, just let us know.

Next Steps

Currently, we are diligently working through all your responses, collating and sorting the data so that we have a dedicated bank of experiences that prove how far-reaching and deeply affecting this scandal remains. We will be in touch soon regarding the shape and direction of our campaign, and we would love to hear your thoughts and feedback.

Staying Connected

We are delighted to inform you that the Facebook group called DES Daughters and Sons Support Group UK is now live. You can join here or via the button below.

The group has been created by the incredibly brave Suzanne, who talked about her lifetime of destructive health problems as a result of her mother being prescribed DES for the recent ITV News documentary.

You can also watch this video message from Suzanne, who shares her hopes for the Facebook group and why she encourages you to join. This is a safe, private space for those affected by DES to chat privately and share experiences. To be clear, the group is not run by Broudie Jackson Canter. This is a separate safe space ran by Suzanne to help connect DES Daughters and Sons.

You can get in touch with us at DESJustice@broudiejacksoncanter.co.uk.

Thank you for your continued support and engagement.

Best regards,

Clare (Partner)
